8th Meet The Professor

From 15-17 November, 2012, Padua Congress Centre will host the 8th Breast Cancer Conference "Meet The Professor - Advanced International Breast Cancer Course", directed by Mr. Pier Franco Conte, Integrated Department of Oncology, Hematology and Respiratory Diseases (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia) and Mr. Gabriel N. Hortobagyi, Department of Breast Medical Oncology (University of Texas).
The Conference is addressed to: oncologists, radiologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, surgeons.


  • Monica Boscolo Research Grant: the scientific Committee will select the winner of the Monica Boscolo Research Grant. This Research Award is restricted to young Italian researchers (< 40 years) who will carry out a research project at a foreign institution.
  • International Prize for Breast Cancer Research: the Scientific Committee will select a young researcher who has published, as principal author in an international peer-reviewed journal, a manuscript reporting important clinical or biological advances in breast cancer. the winner will be invited to present his/her study during the annual Conference.
  • Patrizia Rossi Merit Award:This prize will be awarded to the best thesis on breast cancer from a graduate in medicine or postgraduate in medical oncology from Italian Universities.
  • Scholarship Fondazione Federico Calabresi: the scholarship includes a reward of € 1000,00 (from which will be deducted the tax burden according to law), the registration fee, travel and accommodation in Padova for the Meeting. It will be assigned to the best publication on international press during the current year or "in press" to the date September 3rd, 2012. The main author must be a clinical oncologist younger than 45 years old. Please send the request together with two copies of the work within September 21st to Accademia Nazionale di Medicina, Pal. The credit certification is subject to:
  • attendance at the entire Meeting
  • the completion of the meeting evaluation form
  • the completion of the final questionnaire (at least 75% of correct answers)

The official language of the meeting is English. No simultaneous translation will be provided.
